"Mother Land" consists of a series of photographs, a short video, and audio recordings of Ukrainian songs performed by my mother. It narrates the physical and emotional journey my mom embarked on to seek refuge in Berlin, following Russia’s full-scale invasion of our homeland, Ukraine. The work explores themes of the mother-daughter relationship, forced migration and war, and the meaning of home, identity, and belonging.
